seems the problems the AppleStore was having are over... i ordered a BTO iMac (15/512/160G) for my sister and it went from order to shipping in 8 working days!
now it's sitting in the box in my living room and she told me i can't open it, she wants to do it herself ;-)

Yep, it's much faster now, I ordered DVD's around 10:00 PM EST and I had a shipment notification 2 hours later. This would usually take 1 day minimum and 3 days wasn't unheard of.
Congrats, on the iMac, my girlfriend has one and its an amazing machine.

it's very nice i guess. with printer, free USB cable, the single internal 512 dimm and 160G drive it comes to €1800,- (using educational discount).
still a lot but it's a very nice complete system. the only thing missing is the superdrive, but an upgrade to the 17" would've cost €2300 in this config.
ah well... in two years we can do the superdrive upgrade ourself - or get an external solution.
