Here's my situation: I use Pro Tools LE with a DIGI002 Rack interface. I am going to buy a G5 and I need to know which one I should buy. I would love to believe I could get away with a 1.6 or 1.8 Single G5 allowing me enough extra money to buy a 20" cinema display, but I'm afraid I'm going to run out of processing power. Has anyone used a single G5 with Pro Tools LE? If a single isn't powerful enough, should I wait until the revisions come out next month to buy a dual processor? The problem with that is: I am finishing school in three weeks and I want to be able to use my student discount to save a couple hundred bucks. I'm mainly looking for some responses from people using a single G5 in Pro Tools. Thanks.

Get the dual and buy a CRT. You can get a screen of the same size with a better image for MUCH less money -- LCD's are "cool," but frankly quite overrated (at least IMO).
Be happy.

Your question will best be answered here I think.

Regarding screens, as a PT user who's gone from CRT to LCD my advice is LCD if you can afford it. PT's has such little buttons and you can stare at those screens for so many hours in a day you'll appreciate it.
