I have a B/W G3 350 with a Matshita DVD-ROM drive (the one it came with). My problem is that my drive doesn't seem to be able to read 80 min. (700 mb) cd-r's. It reads all 650 mb cd-r's. Is there any way to resolve this, or is this drive unable to read that format natively? Thanks.

I'm not sure if this is something that can be resolved (my PC roommate's dvd-rom also has issues opening CD's) but if you are in the market to treat yourself I recommend the LITE-ON CDRW or combo drive from newegg.com free shipping (for those products) and great service. I have the CDRW drive and its great.

If it is a software or resolvable hardware issue, good luck and post a fix for the rest of us.

It could be a date limitation. I had a CD burner when 4x was blazing and later in life when 800MB disc came along it would not burn it.

Sorry that I wasn't clearer, the drive that wont read the 80 min cds is not a burner. I have no problem burning the cds. My burner is able to read them, but it is so noisy I would rather use my quieter built-in drive while working.
