My G5 came with a 10.2.7 restore and a panther update from 10.2.7 but not the iDVD media; the machine includes a superdrive. Where is iDVD? A solution to iDVD problems is to install iDVD from the disc that came along with the G5 and not from iLife (see macfixit) but my dual box do not include it!

Use /Applications/Utilities/Software Restore to install the software included with the G5. If Software Restore isn't there (you formatted the machine since you got it), then you can install it using the "Applications and Classic" install from the G5's DVD.

I mean: what iApps are included by default? Is iDVD included?

iDVD is not installed with the rest of the system, but it is (along with classic and others) on the 10.2.7 dvd that came with the computer. Put it in and you should see another installer for all that.

Great. I had to use Terminal to enter the hidden folder .image into the cd then type "open iDVD1.dmg" to start the installer. Now it never crashes on the G5 while the iLife version always froze the system. An encoding error at some point but I found the solution in Apple discussion forum about iDVD: importing from "File" menu the iMovie movie (not self contained, not dragged or exported directly from iMovie) and then create and burn the iDVD project.

Thanx
Sam
