I bought an Airport Extreme card through an education discount from an Apple store nearly a month ago. It is not even opened yet but I have recently discovered that my 2002 iMac FP doesn't support Airport Extreme, but only the original airport. Two question:

1) Is there any way to get the Airport Extreme card to work in the iMac even though it says it only takes 802.11b Airport cards?

2) Is it possible to get a full refund and/or exchange on a product you bought a month ago, especially if you haven't opened it yet?

1. No

2. Check and see. I don't see any reason why they wouldn't take it back, especially if it still factory sealed.
