Hey all, I have a wee bit of a problem.
Yesterday I was surfing the net on my iMac 17" FP using the 56K Internal modem, any ways my phone rang once, then stopped, but i stayed connected.... and the net froze.

since then i have not been able to connect back onto the net (I am on my Pee Cee @ the moment)

The message that comes up when i try to connect is the same message that is displayed when there is no phone line attached to the modem.

" No dial tone detected. Please check phone line connection and try again"

The phone line is fine as i am using the one that is usually on the mac on the PC at the moment.

Can any one out there help me??

Thank you all in advance!

Try to reset the PRAM (hold-down command-option-P-R during boot).

Even before you try zapping the PRAM, just try rebooting. It may be the reboot that fixes your problems, and you won't lose any settings.

Thanks for the idea of zapping the pRam, I have already rebooted, but alas, no good.

I think that maybe lightning has struck, as my phone line no longer works

Would any one know if that is covered in my Apple Care?

Cheers all
