I am the tech guy at a school, the janitor in our school was switching over an outlet cover in our Pre-K classroom so the kids can't get into it and pulled the plug on a grape iMac that was on WITHOUT shutting it down first. Now the computer will not start or anything. Does anyone know what might have happened and if I am able to fix this. I have ripped apart many iMacs from the first Rev to the most recent, so I can open it. Does it have a restart button somewhere like the PowerMacs that might help.

It has a restart swith on the right side next to the ports.
Maybe try resetting the P-ram, hold down apple alt P and R on startup (i think, better check this on Apple's support).

Sorry Krypton, I put restart button, I ment to say reset button, these are on the indside of the computers. I would zap the p-ram, but if you would have read my post, it doesn't start-up so I can do that. Thanks for the post though.

You actually did zap the PRAM when pushing the CUDA button. But how long did you hold it for? I've always read to hold it for 10 seconds, or just pull the battery and leave it for 5 minutes. Both will work.
And Krypton, you're right, it's Command+Option+P+R. Most people don't say Apple+Alt anymore.

Actually, I didn't zsp the PRAM as I do not know where the CUDA button is, that was my first question, did these iMacs have them? Where are they?
Thanks

No problem. Good to hear it's working again. BTW, if you ever need to use or just want to see the CUDA button, it's a little button that's located near the RAM slots (on the slot loaders, not sure where it is for tray loaders.)
