I'm bidding on a (non-eBay) auction for a Gigabit ethernet graphite G4 case and logic board. I had planned to buy an OWC processor upgrade. However, their site mentions that the firmware needs to be updated before installing the processor upgrade. Since the machine doesn't currently have a processor, I'm sorta stuck. Has anyone installed a processor upgrade without having the original CPU on these machines?
I do not like those green links and spam.
I do not like them, Sam I am.

If you need a 450 to drop in there to test it out first and see if it has the firmware PM me. I also have a Sonnet 800 MHz Upgrade card as well if you are interested.
