Two slot loading, Snow iMacs (PowerPC3-500MHz) out of 25 in lab suddenly have decided not to accept CD's. Ejects them immediately. Have rebuilt desktop, ran DiskWarrior, cleaned CD's, checked CD's, checked extensions, etc. Any other ideas?

I have a Flower Power iMac 600 for my daughter and two days ago it started with the same thing you list. Sits a few seconds with sounds like it is still spooling the disk in but shoots it out within a few seconds. I have called a local Mac Service center here in Orlando and he thinks it is shot. I have been on the web trying to find a replacement for it. Any suggestions out there? Would it be cheaper to run an external drive as I know that the speed of the internal one is not very good.
