so, i just upgraded my dual 1.8 G5 to 1GB of ram by adding two 256 DDR 400 sticks. i decided to go third party for the ram since apple charges almost twice as much as everyone else. i picked up two sticks of kingston value ram for $110. in researching the type of ram to buy i consistently found that the G5's only like a CAS latency of 2.5 or better. well, when i had my case open installing the new ram i pulled one of the stock sticks and surprise, surprise they are rated at a CAS latency of 3. i'm not a rocket scientist when it comes to memory, but everywhere i look, CAS latency 3 is the cheapest p.o.s. ram around. which makes my kingston value ram better than the super apple ram. anyways, just thought i'd make this observation.
