Okay, after replacing my internal hard drive on a Graphite iMac DV, I knew that I needed to next install a new operating system.

Like an idiot, I accidentally put Disk 2 of the OSX installer in instead of Disk 1.

Since there is not a system on either the hard drive or Disk 2 of the install CD, the iMac just sits there and asks for a system folder and spins the CD looking for one. How do I eject the CD? There isn't a manual button to hold down nor is there a key on the keyboad to accomplish the same feature. I'm sure it must be something simple, but haven't figured it out just by guessing...

there is a manual button but I forget.

On the far right hand side of the slot for the cd there is a small hole. Take a straight paper clip and push it through until u feel as if you have "pushed" something, then the cd should pop out.

Even easier than that, just hold down the mouse button after you turn it on.
