My G5 is not doing sound properly. It won't do anything with the built in speaker and when I have headphones plugged in I get bizzare distortions.

Additionally, any media player apps I've tried will gladly play video but no audio, and iTunes won't even start to play a song. Has anyone experienced this? I'm on 10.3.2 and firmware 5.1.4, but this problem has only arisen in the past few hours.

This is happening to me to.

I haven't restarted since running the mpeg2 update though.

Try restarting.

Well, I restarted, installed quicktime 6.5, restarted again and I still have no sound.

This sucks.
