Hi

Got a Dual G5 1.8 with NVIDIA GeForce FX 5200 Ultra.

Just got a iiyama AU4831D TFT 19" monitor to go with it. Great picture and OS X shows model in prefs. The problem is when I shutdown the G5 and later switch it back on with monitor left in standby the monitor doesnt kick in.

Have to power off the monitor and on again. Just wondering where the fault is?

TIA

I've got an Iiyama crt connected to a G4 and that's happened once or twice. I have no clue what caused it.

Apologies for bumping such an old thread.

Fozzie, I have the exact same monitor but with a G4 1.25 (Radeon 9000) and I get the same problem.

I've tried different monitors too though and it's still the same - the monitor won't wake from standby mode so maybe the iiyama isn't at fault?

Did you ever get it sorted?

I luckily bumped back into it

I suspect it is the G5 "Black Screen of Death". I had the graphic card changed but it still did the same on DVI. It's ok with VGA dongle so putting up with fuzzier picture and my PC gets the DVI

I can't be bothered at moment to take it back to Apple but one day before warranty runs out.
