i got a "new" iMac 350 from a guy at work last week. The monitor has gone out...it still functions, just not well, i know it's only the crt that's bad though. Do you know where i could buy a new screen to put in the case?
I also found a pretty crappy imac 533(everything's broke) but it has a good screen...it may be a miracle, but would that fit in there too? it seems like they've had the same monitor ever since switching in the dv line. A quick response would be appreciated, the auction closes in an hour...thanks

an iMac 333 screen is different.

I have the iMac 350 screen from an iMac I disassembled. Make offer, and you pay shipping. Email me.
If this post is in the Lounge forum, it is likely to be my own opinion, and not representative of the position of MacNN.com.

I always wondered if you could fit the guts of a 14" LCD in an iMac case. You could connect it to the external VGA connector.

14" LCD monitors are less than $200 these days..

Be careful of replacement old CRT's.

CRT's age over time.

I have 3 iMacs. 2 green, 1 bondi.
The 2 green I got on ebay were hardly used and the screens are brand new/sharp.

The bondi imac was used daily for 4 years since new and still works, but the screen is so fuzzy it hurts your eye to look at it.

I'd REALLY like to see someone figure out how to get a LCD into the classic bubblegum imac shell.

I just joined this forum because I wanted to tell you a site shows how to put a LCD panel into bodiblue.
