A few weeks ago I posted on how to replace the fans in my PowerMac DA. I removed the power supply and pulled the original fan out of it and cleaned it up. I was going to replace the fan with a new one I had bought, but I noticed the new fan had a lower amp level, both are 12 volts though. I was worried that the fan might cause some electrical problem (sorry, don't know too much about electrical wiring) so I held off, and put the original back in. Now the fan has variations in sound, I'm guessing that it's a variable speed fan, but it's doing this every few minutes or so then stops and works fine for a little bit. Should I worry about the differences in amp levels and put the new fan in?
Thanks!
