Greetings,

First time I've been faced with this one! I'm selling my G5. (long story, don't ask) It is of course still under the factory warranty. I also never registered the machine (at least I'm pretty sure I didn't).

What would be the specifics of transferring the warranty? If I did not register the machine when I got it, the new owner can just register and claim the machine as their own, correct?

If I DID register it, is there anything I actually need to do to make things easier if the new owner needs to get support?

Thanks much!

No problems whatsoever. Just send the buyer a copy of the original invoice. With that and the terms of sale they can get it transferred over.

I know for applecare I had to send an a certified letter to apple in texas with a copy of my receipt and the serial number of the my machine and the new owner's name. Might not be the same for the normal warranty though

You don't really need to do anything extra for the normal warranty. I bought an almost-new PowerBook from a client last year and had to have it serviced within the one-year warranty period. I didn't have any problems.
I do not like those green links and spam.
I do not like them, Sam I am.
