17 inch iMac, Applestore installed 1 gig RAM, No attached peripherals other than Airport Extreme, 10.2.8


Held down Apple key and "V" at startup

long pause of 40 seconds at line

USBF:34.150
Apple USBProKbdI0X2a07d00]::startApple USBPro @3(0X1911008


and then about 160 seconds at line
AirportPCI ethernet address 00:09:95:f8:30

Then swift progression to desktop and completely normal operation.

Kernel Panic at SuperDrive boot.

fsck shows HD ok

3 cycles of repair priveledges reports no futher corrections. NV ram reset done 3 times.

Shall I send it back to Apple(4 month old machine)?
