I just bought a second Hard drive for my G5. It is a Maxtor 250 GB it is identical to the factory one in my G5 except the size. It even has a Apple on it. Granted I bought it on eBay but am assured that it works. I installed it into bay B and then booted up. It was not there so I reseated the connectors and tried again. Nope, went to disk utility and it didn't see it. reset pram nothing ...go figure. Started up on the Apple Hardware test again it didn't see it. I ran the test anyway and it found.....take a guess.....nothing. I switched bays and again nothing. Called Apple care and they told me to take it to the Apple Store. I called them first and they said that they wouldn't help with it. Does anyone have any suggestions before I give up and demand my money back?

If you (or one of your friends) have a PC, you may wanna try it there. Even tho you seem to be very sure that it works, it may be defective and that's the easiest way to find out.
