We have an older blue and white G3 PowerMac at our church that has been upgraded to a G4 with a processor upgrade from Sonnet. This machine is used for PowerPoint on Sundays and some basic video editing in iMovie.

We would like to get a DVD writer to archive videos and clear up the hard drive. Rather than simply copying the iMovie files, we would like to create playable DVDs using software like iDVD.

First can anyone suggest an external drive that will work with this computer?

Second, I have heard that some of the third party drives don't work with iDVD. Do any of them or is there other software that you would recommend?
