Okay... I decided to go SATA last month. I snagged up two 160GB Serial ATA Seagate Barracudas. 7200 RPM, 8MB cache... etc. I also picked up a FirmTek Serial ATA PCI controller card.

Now, I was fooling around with XBench yesterday and noticed that my Serial ATA Seagates score around 69 points in the disk test. Where as my very-similar-in-performance Seagate IDE drive, using the onboard ATA/66 bus, scores 120. Even my stock Maxtor scores around 112...

Does anybody know if XBench has problems with SATA in the disk test? Would any of you G5'ers be willing to run the disk test part of XBench and report your results here?

Thanks people.
