I have the Formac 1740 monitor and a G5 dual. G5 is stock, no peripherals or anything hooked into it.
I originally had a G4 and my computer at times would not wake from sleep. My G5 is 2 weeks old and has begun the same problem. On occasion it will not wake and I have to force a restart.
This is weird! Anyone have any idea what can be causing this? Is Formac known for this type of problem?

I have the same problem, except I have a NEC Monitor and a Single 1.8 G5.
It is starting to happen more often now. It is really getting annoying.
I would like some info on this aswell.
Thanks

I'm no expert, but having read these forums, the standard advice is to unplug all peripherals, and see if the problem persists, adding them back one at a time..... You can also try a different monitor and see what happens.... I had a sleep issue that was caused by a Kensington Pocket Pro wireless mouse.

I'm wondering, do Apple Computers not like Non-Apple Monitors hooked into them?

I have a NEC 1760V 17" LCD hooked up to my 1.25ghz G4 PM and it works gloriously, no issues whatsoever......

I seem to remember reading somewhere that a few people were having problems with their G5's and vga monitors. The common thread with your problem and theirs is the use of the adapter. Again, I'm not positive but it could be as people using LCD's aren't having the problem.

I don't mean to poke holes in anyone's theory, but...
I have a 1.8GHz (single) G5 running 10.3.2 and the LCD 17" Studio Display from Apple. I had problems waking from sleep, which I traced not to the peripheral (Logitech MX 700), but the special software that allows me to program the mouse buttons to do more than Apple's stock drivers allow. I still like the mouse but Logitech has not yet said anything about Panther support.
My theory is that the wake from sleep problem only appeared when Fast User Switching was on and two users were logged in. And I'm still not sure the sleep problem stayed away when I removed the special driver (Logitech Control Center 1.11 for OS X).
I have no other USB peripherals operating. Does anyone notice if it matters to which USB port you plug in (such as on the monitor, of any brand)?

Interesting!
Donald, I have the LCD 17.
MUGlover, I was thinking maybe it's software based too because I am the same user with all the exact data transfered from my G4 user Folder to the new G5.
I have no mouse extensions that I know of unless I overlooked something.
Let's say you are correct, does anyone know if it's possible to get back to my basic system setup without reinstalling everything?
