How many people have got this problem. I am presuming it's only using DVI. If using the VGA dongle your ok.

I get a black screen on a cold boot when I have my eyeTV and my Brother HL 1440 plugged in at the same time. Its really annoying.

That's a known problem. Call Apple. They'll provide you with a new graphics card.

I had the same problem (with the VGA adaptor though) and they replaced the card.

Can you describe the problem a little more? My screen stays black until my desktop appears, but then it's fine. Do you mean it stays black forever?
I'm using the DVI port with the VGA adaptor with a CRT.

Yes it stays black until the machine has warmed up then a restart normally cures it. Had a new graphics card from Apple and that has not cured mine

Twins, separated at birth, perhaps?

Call Apple, as the other poster said, and they will replace your video card.

Had a new video card, still the same. I am back to using VGA instead of DVI, so picture not as sharp but preferable for now to sending it in for a few weeks in service.

Stock dual 2.0 (Radeon 9600), 22" Cinema Display.
No black screen problems, but to be honest, I think I've only cold-booted this thing maybe 5 times since buying it in October. It been up pretty much 24/7 since.
