G3 with 384RAM with original hardware running Classic mode. Want to add LCD flat panel monitor and all I get is a dark screen with "no signal". The previous MAC monitor was hooked up with a Viewsonic adapter and worked fine and yes, the new monitor works, just not on the MAC.

I changed the original 3.6v clock battery and am thinking maybe a new video card. Any suggestions? Thanks.

try popping an ATI Radeon 7000 in there, it has a dvi port along with an s-video and vga jack. I have one in My beige g3/300. Works great, but of course I use a regular vga crt.

1. It's Mac, not MAC.

2. Does the Mac work with another monitor now?

Most likely, though, the Mac->VGA adapter is just set wrong.

It is if you are talking about the Mac's MAC address

Seriously though, are you using the stock video card w/ 2MB or 6MB vram? I would definetly think about getting a better card. Go for the Radeon 8500 PCI, it is probably overkill though!

Thanks. I would think a VGA is not that far removed from an LCD, wouldn't you? I'll try it.

Thanks. It's the original card that came w/ the unit in 1999. Have not changed any of the hardware or cards as yet. I appreciate the suggestion.
