Hi all, I was hoping you could give me an opinion about a used Mac purchase. I'm waiting to buy a G5 until later this year but I need a machine to hold me over until then. I mainly run Final Cut, DVD Studio Pro, Shake and Photoshop. Right now, I have two choices.

Choice 1:
Dual 450mhz G4 Gigabit Ethernet
640mb
2x 40gb hard drives
Zip 100 internal
Pioneer DVD-R

$600

or

Choice 2:
Dual 867 G4 MDD
640mb
80 + 60 gb hard drives
Pioneer DVD-R

$1100-1200 (hoping for 1100)

Is it worth it to get the MDD dual or the Gigabit dual? Thanks in advance for any advice.

I would go with the dual 450... Save yourself about $600 or so in the process. This is only if you are getting a G5 later in the year. If you werent I would suggest going to Apples website, spending a little more and get the current dual G4 there... $1100 is a bit much for the dual 867
