Hey, I just switched to Mac two days ago and I am looking at beefing up my new baby. I have a G4 powermac (Gigabit Ethernet) stock model. I am thinking about taking my extra ATA hardrive out of my PC and adding the space to my new mac. I am also looking for a way to take my Old Wintv Fm PCI TV tuner card and install it in my Power Mac. What do I have to do to the windows formatted harddrive to prepare it for mac mounting and is there anyway to get a Mac driver for my Tv Tuner? Any advice would be greatly appreciated as I am very new to all of this.

Thank you,
-Rakasis

the hard drive shouldn't need to be modified in any way, just back up data before putting it in the mac in case it does ask you to initialize. if it doesn't ask you should wipe it with disk utility anyway, b/c macs read pc formatted drives slower.

to the best of my knowledge there are no mac drivers for that tv card. but there are alternatives which you can explore in the peripherals forum (search for eye tv or alchemy).

another good upgrade is a lite-on cdrw for the lower bay since they are cheap (newegg.com) and fast.

lots of ram is also a plus with OS X
