One wonders if Apple is going to scrap the 4-slotted 1.6 motherboard in favour of the 8-slotted one, now that the mid-range Power Mac is a dual.

If that happens it'll be a very good thing, even if it still maintains the 667 MHz bus. 4-slots is simply too few when one has to add memory in pairs.

Well, it looks like it had 8 RAM slots from the pictures. So I'd say yes.

And, BTW, the G5s will work with 2GB DIMMs so their actual RAM ceiling is 16GBs.
