I have an original G4 that needs a power supply. I've found them new online, but they are like almost $200. I can't believe this machine won't take a standard power supply....

Anyone know of a good reseller online that sells used/refurb ones at good prices?

Try Pre-Owned electronics. They make you set up an "account" with them, but its well worth it. They have tons of parts (new and refurbed) and really, really good service. We use them at work for a bunch of stuff and they are often cheapter than Apple on replacement parts and even offer a similar exchange discount. http://preowned.com

If its a Sawtooth, you can just use a regular PC power supply and convert via the instructions in this article. If you have a Sawtooth, and end up getting a PC PSU to convert, buy a nice Antec or something that wont fail on you.

Sure, registering by phone may seem ridiculous, but I think it's a really good deal for that small amount of hassle. It turns out that registering takes about 5 minutes, tops, and then you get really personalized service thereafter. I had a delay on a part I ordered (personally, not for work) and they called me to let me know that it was backordered longer than they expected. Why did they call me? Because they saw that I was checking my order status frequently and probably had a question. So they called and answered it. I thought it was pretty nice. Oh yeah, they're parts tend to be cheaper than Apple parts, too.

Don't set your hopes too high, but check any small Mac shops that might be around you. I got a P/S for my DP500 a year ago for around 75 bucks that way. Apple wanted me to bring it in and have them install it for an extra 80 bucks. I had to provide the small shop with a valid serial number for the machine and they procured it thru Apple Repair, but let me install it.
