i have a similar problem with my 15" imac, but maybe its not tilted so much like his. ive heard in forums that alotta imac owners have this problem and apple hasnt been able to fix it as it is evident in the 20" imac....
dunno, would be sweet to fix it...

Sorry, I dont' have a solution.....but I am thinking about buying a 17" iMac at some point in the future and am worried about getting a "tilter".
Can anyone tell me if the tilt is in the LCD itself (LCD screen within the monitor housing), or is the whole monitor housing that is tilted?
In other words, does it look like A or B?

Seems like B would probably be easier to fix yourself.

There is a fix. Off the top of my head, I don't know what it is. However, I have seen it in the service pdf. At the moment, I don't have that handy. If your machine is under warranty, take it in and they can adjust that under warranty.

I had the same problem - I took it back to the apple centre I got it from and they repaired it free of charge (mind you it was still in warranty!) - it is a reported problem with the earlier flat panels (mine is the first gen 17), in that some of the internal screws/bolts holding the monitor on the arm were not tightened enough.
I found mention of it on the knowledge base, also it was raised a lot in the apple discussion forums.
Mine has been fine ever since the fix.
have a look at the apple support discussions and then ask you local apple centre, they may fix it for free as it is a problem with some imacs.
Or you could have a look at the take apart manuals and do it yourself (they are available if you look around in google )

jdeck, thanks for letting me know which one it is. Based on what DAlex said it should be a doable fix.
