hello all, i just picked up a sawtooth agp g4 and i want to install a radeon 8500. i found a locked forum earlier that gives instructions on how to flash a PC version of the card for use on the mac, however, all of these instructions required OS9, which i don't have..i'm running 10.3.2 and i wish to perform the same task. does anyone know of a way to flash the card using OSX only? if anyone does, i'd really appreciate the help...please hook me up with links to whatever software i might need/links to previously posted OSX flash instructions. thanks!!

Reason it was locked is because the discussion of flashing is not allowed.

well that's too bad...sorry for breaking a rule that shouldn't exist in the first place. perhaps someone could email me with the help instead of posting here on macnn since that's obviously not going to go over well...the addy is trans9b@aol.com....or you could hit me up on iChat: mrmoon7182. thanks again and my apologies.

Every Sawtooth should have OS9 already. The very first ones came with a custom 8.6 install, but OS9 was readily available for some time afterwards - bundled with 10.0 and 10.1, a special order for 10.2.

dude, i don't have OS9. i picked this thing up second hand and reformatted it first thing with a clean install of panther. but even before i did that, os9 wasn't installed on the disc...anyway that's not the issue here. i'm trying to figure out how to flash the video card without, say again, without OS9. does anyone have any experience with this?
