I've got a 733 G4 Digital Audio with 3 PC133 512MB chips in it.
System Profile shows the bus speed at 133MHz and the following under Memory:
DIMM0/J21:
Size: 512 MB
Type: SDRAM
Speed: PC100-222S
DIMM1/J22:
Size: 512 MB
Type: SDRAM
Speed: PC100-322S
DIMM2/J23:
Size: 512 MB
Type: SDRAM
Speed: PC100-322S
The RAM chips are all generic sticks, but I don't have any problems with crashing or panics. I'm wondering though what speed my system is running at. I'm pretty confident that the sticks at least think they are 133 (as opposed to me getting screwed by the ram vendor), because the manufacturer's sticker on each lists them as 133, in addition to the vendor's sticker listing them as 133.
If I trade in for some quality ram sticks am I going to get a 33% speed boost of my memory?
Thanks,
Spacemoose
PS: Is there any utility out there that doesn't use the built in system_profiler utility for determining RAM speed and specs?

Your RAM is 133MHz RAM. Your Digital Audio would not work with 100MHz RAM. RAM must be at least as fast as the system bus, in this case 133MHz.
Every Mac I have seen that uses a 133MHz bus, including the Digital Audio and QuickSilvers, seem to have an issue with System Profiler that leads to the RAM being reported improperly. Not just the clock speed of the RAM, but also the CAS latency. My machine included. Don't worry about it, Apple will probably fix it in a future update.
And trading in for higher quality RAM wouldn't help. One of my DIMMs is a PC-133 CL3 Crucial but it supports as PC-100 CL2.

TechTool Pro.
Sounds to me like System Profiler is just full of it. Your machine wouldn't run with PC100 RAM in it.
