We've got a graphite iMac G3 500. The display went dead a couple of weeks ago, and we were told it was likely to be a dead analog board. So, we had it replaced. . .but now the display has a distinctly green-ish tint, even after color calibration.

The shop that did the work says it's normal. Sound like BS to me.

Anyone have any experience with this or a similar problem? I tend to think the new analog board is faulty, but I'd like to hear some impartial advice before I dispute the credit-card charge.

Thanks,

Ryøkan

Sounds to me like they didn't properly calibrate your display after installing the new analog board. Check out http://www.wileytradegroup.com/imac_repair/imac.pdf for some details on calibrating the CRT (model might not match your's but it's probably a similar procedure)

Thanks.

We've already tweaked the colors through calibration, and have decided to live with the board. Too much trouble otherwise. . . .but I'll check out the site and let you know the results.
