Hi

I currently have a 32mb Radeon card in my AGP G4/350. I've been offered a Radeon 8500 for £13 ($20 or so).

Will there be much of an improvement over my 32mb Radeon card to warrant the cost of the replacement card?

I have tried a search but can't find anything regarding these two cards and my type of mac, so I'm hoping someone can help me.

Many thanks,

Matthew

13 quid is dead cheap for a much better card than what you have. Go for it!

I have a G4 350 AGP with the 8500. Go for it, that is a really good deal, and you will see improvements - especially if you want to run dual monitors off the card.

You can run games at higher resolutions with little or no penalty. Quartz Estreme and Expose will go faster too.

Yes, definately go for it.

You wont see as big of a difference between the Radeon and the Radeon 8500 as you would if you had a faster processor, but you will still see a difference in things such as Expose and other Quartz operations as Reader50 said.

Nice thing though is that having the Radeon 8500 in your machine will give you a reason to sink some cash into a nice processor upgrade so you can take full advantage of it.
