I have another thread in this forum about some problems I've been having with a Beige I inherited. It is a G3/233 DT. Yesterday, I picked up a Beige G3/266 DT.

I wasn't aware that the DT came in a 266 model. Is this a RevB? If so, will it support slave drives (like the G3/300 tower)?

I'm going to dig into these things this weekend, but your help will be greatly appreciated.

TIA

Check your rom chip. It will tell you what Rev you have A, B, or C.

I've always found the 'C' revisions to be able to take the most 'abuse' (where abuse is defined as upgrades, new HDDs, max RAM, etc.).

Thanks.

I'm not near the Mac right now, but will the ROM be clearly labeled A, B, or C?

No, but this page will tell you what revision you have when you pull up the ROM ID.
