So, who else is upset that there is no mic-in on the PowerMac G4(Quicksilver 2002). I just installed Garageband, got my 1/4" to 1/8" converter and my guitar out, and was ready to rock out. Only to discover that I have no mic-in port!!! .

You just noticed?
Sorry, but that complaint is old news. So old that Apple has already added the audio-in back to their newer models of the PowerMac.
Go buy an iMic and the problem is solved..

I was going to do that anyway, but it was kind of a bummer because you can't get an iMic at 11:30 at night. I vote that the Apple retail stores should be 24 hours.
