hi,
i have an imac dv 400mhz, g3, 512mb ram, 80 gig hard drive.
i wanted to remove the puny 13inch monitor,to use the external vga out and i wanted to place my imac into a clear acrylic case that i built myself.
so i opened up my imac, removed the monitor tube, and I MADE SURE I ONLY REMOVED MONITOR RELATED ITEMS AND CABLES.
so it is basicly the same way as before, nothing has been changed, except the monitor is gone. Both boards are still mounted and connected as they originaly were, except the monitor cable isnt pluggin, leaving an empty connector.

heres what happens when i press the power switch, a small little light on the motherboard glows green, then it shuts off, the cd/dvd rom does not power on, the hard drive does not power on, but when i plug it in, if i have a fan plugging to the molex connector, it will power on but faintly.

does anyone, or does anyone know about anything on that motherboard that i could do to troubleshoot, or reset,

i am also looking for a diagram of the imac mobo, and power board.

if you find information post here, or email me anything @ tyteguy2000@cfaith.com
