I've noticed that the fans on my G5 are alot more noticeable noisier than before I ran the 10.3.3 update... anyone else notice this? Somehow the fan control must have made this baby rev up more. The noise is extremely irritating.

Haven't noticed. But rumor has it Apple increased the hard drive fan as it was too low before.

Boy, I hope so. I moved my heat sensor for my hard-drives.

(I was concerned about over heating)

The guy who started that said it should be moved back to the original position after upgrading to 10.3.3.

After shutting down my system and unplugging the UPS... no problems with the fans anymore. Seems like everything is back as it was with 10.3.2. I have no idea why the fans were revving max at system idle.. but the problem seems to have disappeared.

I checked this board for the exact reason - I updated to 10.3.3 and today as I'm working, I noticed more fan noise. Not a huge deal...but I was enjoying an almost silent machine until now. I'll try shutting down the CPU and the UPS to see if that does anything. I have the "sleep" function shut off completely for the monitor and the CPU, so I have not experienced the "max'd out fan at idle" though.
