I haven't posted here in a long time. Been hanging out at MacCentral General forum. I signed up with themacisp.com internet service provider. It uses what they call Slipstream compression/cache technology via an app that I download, launch and set up. There are 5 different compressions positions on the slider to choose from other than the full uncompressed image. I took some speed surfing results with Safari with the cache emptied without compression and with the default compression which is the 3rd position from uncompressed original. Times in seconds.

The real speed though comes in on frequently visited sites I guess from the cache. After testing all the above sites, I clicked in my bookmarks USA Today again and it loaded it fully in 17 seconds. It really is a nice alternative of dsl or cable modem. If I slide the slipstream slider over to the fastest/most compression, the images are too blurry to be actually viewed. You can't tell what the heck it is you're viewing. The nicest thing about it is I can pick the level of compression I want. The initial price for 6 months is 9.00 a month, 14.95 after that. Nice ISP, I haven't cut off my local provider yet..but probably will. My local provider does provide dsl but it's very high priced and I'm not in the area to be able to get it.
