I'm not the smartest guy in the world when it comes to computer hardware - is this the memory that works in my 20" iMac 1.25GHz G4?

Nope.

Unfortunately, the iMac uses notebook RAM.

As with all RAM, I recommend Crucial. They make some of the highest quality RAM. You will never run into a RAM related problem with Crucial RAM since it is what Apple uses.

From Crucial, here is the RAM for your iMac.
