Hello
Im trying to learn about the digital in/out on the g5's what is the current use of the 'protocol?' what is the toslink connector and what does it connect to?

will DVD player output to this and can it be connected to a miniDV camera? toa vcr?

TOSlink is a standard digital interface. it was pretty popular for eg. minidisc-players/recorders. you can convert it to electrical coax S/PDIF with a special converter.
