Hi All,
I've got an 3 yr old adaptec 2906 SCSI card for my scanner that used to be in my G4 and wonder if anyone can tell me it will work in my G5 2.0 dual. My guess is it won't and if so can someone suggest similar card that will?

Thanks,
Eric H.

The 2906 is physically incompatible with the G5. There really aren't any low end SCSI cards available for the G5. What do you need to connect to the G5?

rather than sticking money into a SCSI card, you might be better off buying a USB scanner (or a firewire scanner, which is faster but more expensive--depends on how many scans you do...)

Various prices on SCSI/FireWire adapters.

Hi Chris,
The scanner is a epson 836xl which is a nice scanner and it has a very large flatbed so I can do big photos. I don't think that a new one at $2k is a attractive solution.

Thanks to olePigeon and amazing for your responses.

Maybe I will just keep my old G4 and use that for scanning!
