Am trying to learn about how to install 1Gig of RAM on a G5 dual 2Ghz. Apple rep says only to buy from Apple, 2x512 MB DIMMS = $500. Mac Connection says theirs is just as good and a lot cheaper - $200, but it has t be installed by an authorized Apple dealer or you void your warrantee. Is that true? Where to buy RAM and what kind?
Thanks

You won't void your warranty by installing your own RAM. In fact, your manual has instructions on how to install RAM yourself.

Buy what ever's the best value (not necessarily the cheapest, mind you) and install it yourself.
