i had to turn my computer off to move it around my room, and now it wont turn on. basically i know the power source and cable are ok. when i try to turn it on the button backlight turns on briefly before turning off again. nothing inside the machine powers up.

i have a powermac g4, the later model with double mirror drive doors

im a little bit worried to put it mildly! any suggestions?
many thanks

Open it up and make sure everything is seated correctly. The RAM or processor could have come lose. Check your cables. Then on boot zap your PRAM.

To zap the P-Ram press cmd-opt-P-R after booting and keep it pressed till you here the start-up chime again.

As you say it doesn't start up so you probably won't be able to do that. You could try to reset the motherboard. There is usually a small button in one corner of the motherboard. Pressing it could solve your problem.

hit the PMU reset button on the motherboard, then wait 5 sec. Will fix it.
