Is it worth doing? I haven't noticed any noise coming out of my new audio interface (usb and not firewire-), and ever since I put my G5 on the floor I haven't heard the chirping noises it makes under normal use.

Yeah I mean I'm out of shape and could use a workout, but I really don't feel like lugging the ultra heavy G5 over to my local Apple Store to have them replace it, I'm just wondering if there is any other reason besides the noises it makes, or if I'm going to regret not doing it later. I have an Apple case # already and I've already proven to them that it is faulty. But, I don't really care if I don't notice it, and as long as it's not doing anything else like causing interference, may get worse, etc.

I ended up leaving the g5 on the floor. it doesn't bother me as much. the only time I've noticed it is when I am doing a network file copy. I am however going to be getting a new firewire audio interface soon and I am not sure how I'll feel about it then. It did get annoying at higher volumes over firewire. so, I'm not sure...
