I received my new 1,25 GHz eMac yesterday (I had ordered it the day it was released) and on the box it says "Made in Czech Republic".
All you guys having screen problems, where was your eMac manufactured?

I wonder if quality of Apple computers greatly depends on the manufacturing site. My Cube was built in Ireland and I never had any problems with it at all...

Well, sorry to derail your thread .... could you take a moment and check you System Profiler and let us know:
Your Hard Drive make and model
Your Optical Drive make and model

Back on your thread topic, I assume you're saying that your screen in fine ?? How's the noise level ?? What model did you order ? Did you customize at all or buy a stock model ??

My research on faulty eMac displays showed that the main problem existed with the Rev. A eMac with the nVidia graphics card.

I haven't heard a lot about problems with Rev. B or the just released Rev. C.

Anyone ?

I bought a stock 1,25GHz Combo Drive eMac. I didn't customize anything. The HD shows up as ST340015A and the Combo Drive as HL-DT-ST RW/DVD GCC-4481B in System Profiler. Screen looks awesome (so far) and the fan noise is bearable (not louder than my sister's gum drop iMac's HD).

Great !! Thanks for the info. Your HD serial sounds like its a Seagate though I don't recognize the combo drive model. I was getting a little worried about all the monitor comments I've read, but your monitor sounds like its just fine. I actually saw a Rev B in the flesh (only one I've ever seen at my workplace -- some marketing gal had one for some reason or other) and the monitor looked just brilliant (at least compared to my gumdrop iMac). The storied eMac "noise" was also surprisingly absent (and this was in a quiet, private office -- not out on a retail floor). Just a quiet fan hum ... nothing to get one's panties in a knot over.

Glad to hear you got a good one. I'll be joining you soon (I'm in the US, when I get it I'll post in this thread about the monitor and manufacture location -- guess that is your original topic, eh ?).

Hey,
The combo drive looks like its a LiteOn Combo Drive or LG Brand Drive. Because one time I installed a Combo Drive in my PM G4 and in the system profiler it showed that same type of model id.

My 1 GHz Superdrive eMac was assembled in China.

No screen problems at all. As a matter of fact, it is one of the best CRTs I have ever seen.
