Has anyone else experienced this...? I just took delivery of 3-new G5 towers last week and one of them (Mine) has an issue where the tray will not open because it hits the top of the opening in the face-grill on the front. There is no room to adjust it or make it work on it's own.

I mean... CDW is already shipping a replacement for us, since it's a lease... but still, has anyone else experienced this...? Even on the second machine... it DOES work... but there's barely ANY room between the top of the tray and the edge of the opening on the facia.

I haven't unboxed the last machine yet. i can only hope it has no issues.

P.S. - I'm already blown away by these machines. One specific client... their files generally take about 8-minutes to generate a 300-dpi PDF proof on my current G4... on the dual 1.8Ghz machine... they take LESS than 30-seconds...!!! Let's put this in perspective...

8-files would normally take over an hour to output and get ready for emailing. Now... I'm done in FIVE MINUTES...!!!

I can't wait to work on my dual 2.0Ghz machine... yeah, I know... it's not gonna be THAT much faster... but it will be faster, none-the-less.

Peace...

I've seen this before. It's simply a case of the screws (standoffs) on the bottom of the optical drive not being tightened up sufficiently. If you pull the drive out, tighten them up, pop the drive back in it'll work flawlessly.
