I'm sure this has been covered before, but I couldn't quite find the right way to search for it.

I've got an old school tray-loading imac that I want to use the case as a fish tank and the computer as a server in some other case.

Can anyone point me to directions or a how-to on getting everything apart and getting the computer running? I'll figure the fish part out on my own.

Is it easy? hard?

Are you familiar with precautions concerning the CRT?

I know the procedure for dealing with CRTs in general. If there's anything special about taking a imac CRT out, I probably don't know it.

There are several places to check out, for the old tray-loaders try:
http://www.carnforth.co.uk/imac/index.php

http://www.radiomods.co.nz/index.html

For slot-loaders try:

http://www.webdrive.jp/mac/iMIU03e.htm

Have fun, just be real careful with that CRT, here is a link to the manual explaning how to discharge it:
