Do the G5 towers in general have better Airport (Extreme or not) reception over Powerbooks? Is the difference significant?

Doubtful, but you can get a larger antenna and plug it in

I am planning to buy the AE card tonight and I think I may have lost the included antenna. The Apple Store sells a Dr. Bott antenna for $100, but I was wondering if there were any better or cheaper 802.11 antennas that use the same connection type that the G5 has. Does anybody know or have experiences?

I just enhanced the range of my Airport Extreme Base Station by using some thin metalic panels. It works:
