I relocated my Cube to a more visible area and realized how dirty it was. So I decided to seriously clean it for the first time. To properly do this, I had to remove the inner metal sleeve from the plastic enclosure. What surprised me was that there are only two small screws that hold it (and the weight of the entire Cube) in place.

Anyway, I used rubbing alcohol and removed a dozen paper towels worth of black soot (air pollution from automobile exhaust). Now the Cube looks really nice again. I love this machine. It's the only Mac I plan on keeping indefinitely...

I know what he said.

I'm just trying to figure out what kind of environment his cube is installed in that would cause it to pick up those kinds of contaminants.

Everyone needs at least one cube to grace their desk.

"Trinity" (i know, not an original name) provides a much need storage location for common files on my network.

When cleaning the external surfaces of a Cube or anything that is made from plastic, Lucite, Plexiglas, Lexan, or any acrylics, I always use a product by the name of Plexus. This does a very nice job of cleaning as well as polishing. I also use only Micro-Fiber towels to ensure that I do not put any scuff marks or abrasions into the material.

Never use paper towels when cleaning these type of surfaces.

You can get Plexus & Micro-Fiber towels at finer automobile parts stores & motorcycle shops.

Plexus
Cheers,

Just say "NO" to PLASTIC SPEAKERS!!
