I have an old 366 Bondi iMac. Can someone point me to hack which would enable me to connect and external monitor?

You mean 233MHz.

Anyway, those do not have an external monitor connector. They do, however, have an internal one that the built-in display connects to. It's an old-style DB15 Mac monitor connector, so you might need one a DB15-HD15 adapter to use a VGA monitor on it.
