I'm not the seller of this item, (heck I live in Britain) but this does look very cool:

Take a peek - I wonder what speed you could get out of that!!

R9800 Worked perfect right out of the box in my G5!
Allow me to be the first to doubt the hell out of this claim.

What are you folks having rouble wrapping your brain around?

New ideas?

Excellence?

Perhaps you should buy a PC.

The card WORKS. The card ROCKS !!! Their is no reason in HELL we can't buy one at a store other than certain corporations not giving a DAMN about us. (and not having any competition) If any of you doubting sorts lives in LA, come on by !!! Be glad to set you straight.

Or tow the line and wait for someone else to bring you better cards. (don't hold your breath)

Show some evidence and we may begin to believe you.

System profiler pic, bench-tests, figures etc etc take your pick.

So far we have seen nothing but words. Until you put up some real info, we won't believe you.

A. I can do all that but it proves nothing. They will all appear same as 9800 Pro. How would I make benchmarks different?

B. People who don't want to believe, won't.

C. Standing offer to LA Mac folks, come on by!

D. XT is merely a Pro with faster core and memory, what is so unbelieveable?

E. R360 is used as R350 in many PC cards.

F. Memory is 2.5ns instaed of 2.8. I just sped up these values in ROM

G.Again, what is so hard to believe? It is just a faster Pro card, with better components and cooling.

Post the benchmark results and we can judge things for ourselves. This would prove a LOT.

Still no evidence.

Now lots of contradictions.

Move along people, nothing to see here.

(P.S. I am well aware of the PC world, and also well aware of the fact that as yet there is no evidence to back your unsubstantiated claims).

If the card is really faster than a radeon pro it will obviously show, especially because the fastest mac card is an SE and the pros are downclocked.

Come on man, don't be afraid.. post some xbench benchmarks and I'm sure you'll end up getting more customers just by giving some convincing specs and whatnot

So let me get this straight. If I post a simple text file, that any 3rd grader could fake in Word, THAT will convince you all?

I'm Sorry, I didn't realize this was a youth forum.

I have no need to explain or prove anything to the peanut gallery. I suppose you think that I somehow hypnotized 400+ Ebay customers into thinking they were looking at their desktop when in fact it was a blank screen? Read the feedback, boys and girls !!! (or find someone who can read it to you)

I think for myself, a unique thing today, I guess.

I will post ALL my secrets on my website by 6/12/04. Then you can make your OWN 9800 XT. (If Mom will give you the money) I will even explain how to flash a GeForce Titanium series, something else no one has done.

You'll still end up buying them from me. I doubt anyone who posted the nonsense above can use a soldering iron on anything smaller than a Coke can.

Here's your chance to learn.

First lesson:

It's REALLY hard to admit you are wrong, but a VERY important part of growing up. Ask Mom and Dad.

You really don't know anything about anyone on these boards so it is very crass and ignorant to resort to insults.

Ebay feedback is beyond peer for honesty? Umm, fine, you think what you want.

I find your resorting to insults instead of producing hard evidence intriguing. it days a *lot* more than your words.

Reveal your secrets? Shouldn't take long from the evidence so far... Excuse me If I don't hold my breath.

Amacapart, here's a REALLY easy way for all of us to believe you've gotten a Radeon 9800 XT to work in a Mac (and at XT speeds, not just 9800 Pro speeds) -

Send a sample card to Mike at xlr8yourmac.com and let him test the card and post the results.

Do this, and I'll believe you. Otherwise, you'll have a lot of people doubting you. And not just here, but there are many threads about this at other BBSs., including xlr8yourmac.com (of which I'm lucky enough to be a member).
